Adversarial Principle in the US Criminal Justice System

On October 25, 2018, participants and graduates of the “Tomorrow’s Lawyer” Program in Kyiv attended the panel discussion ” Adversarial principle in the US criminal justice system ” at the invitation of the United States Embassy in Ukraine.

Peter Jarosh, US Federal Attorney, Legal Adviser to the US Embassy in Ukraine, and John Staiger, lawyer at Howard & Howard PLLC, USA, spoke on the prospects of adversarial principle in the US justice system.

During the discussion, the experts discussed the role of lawyers and their ethical obligations before the court, its essential elements, including the choice of jury, cross-examination and the closing remarks in court.

 “Tomorrow’s Lawyer” is a powerful network of lawyers uniting opinion leaders in the legal profession, who provide legal assistance in accordance with the highest ethical standards, act as agents of change in society and leaders in the professional community.
