Training “Domestic Violence: Peculiarities of Victim Representation”, Kryvyi Rig
Domestic violence is not a problem of an individual family; it is a problem of the whole country. The relevance and timeliness of the topic is witnessed by the active actions of the legislator in this direction – the adoption of the Law of Ukraine “On Prevention and Counteraction to Domestic Violence”, numerous bylaws to implement the basic law, amendments to the Code of Administrative Offenses, Civil and Criminal Code, including and some types of gender-based violence, expanding the list of aggravating and mitigating circumstances, introducing a mechanism of urgent prohibitive and restrictive prescriptions, restrictive measures applied to perpetrators of domestic violence, etc. It is from the conscious and active position of the involved subjects that the effectiveness of legislative innovations and mechanisms of protection of the injured person in this category of cases will work.
Participation in this seminar-training will give participants the opportunity to distinguish conflict from domestic violence, identify different forms of violence, realize the importance of zero tolerance for the manifestations of various types of domestic violence.
During the event, participants will have the opportunity to develop effective tools for providing professional legal assistance to victims of domestic violence and get acquainted with the specifics of working with this category of clients.
Legislative novelties require the consolidation of all relevant actors, the analysis of current case law and the development of effective tools to protect the victim from the very beginning of the criminalization of domestic violence.
