Open Data. Systematization of Legal Work

On June 12, 2019, participants and graduates of the three seasons of the “Tomorrow’s Lawyer” Program joined for a training entitled “Open Data. Systematization of Legal Work”. The training was supported by the United States Embassy in Ukraine.

The trainers were Andriy Udovychenko, CPO at Bot & Partners, assistant at the Law Laboratory, Mykyta  Pidgainyi, CEO at of Bot & Partners, lawyer at Opendatabot, legal engineer and bot creator, and Fedir Safir, legal engineer at Opendatabot.

The training covered the following topics:

  • effective search and use of open data;
  • automation of legal routine;
  • systematization of work and planning;
  • approaches to customizing databases, task trackers, print acceleration and proofreading programs;
  • systematization of judicial and contractual work;
  • remote legal support in court proceedings;
  • work with court records.

“Tomorrow’s Lawyer” is a powerful network of lawyers uniting opinion leaders in the legal profession, who provide legal assistance in accordance with the highest ethical standards, act as agents of change in society and leaders in the professional community.

The “Tomorrow’s Lawyer” Program was launched in 2016 and first implemented within the “Quality and Accessible Legal Aid” Project, carried out by the Canadian Bureau for International Education with the support of the Government of Canada in cooperation with the Legal Aid Coordination Centre. It is currently being implemented and developed with the support of the US Embassy’s Law Enforcement Section in Ukraine, the “Tomorrow’s Lawyer” NGO, in partnership with the Ukrainian Bar Association and the Bar Association of Legal Aid Providers.
