The Fifth Group Has Started The Second Training Module
On March 2th – 4th, 2018, the fifth group of the “Tomorrows Lawyer” Program passed the second module devoted to the interaction of the lawyer with the court and building collegial relations within the justice system.
During the module participants worked with complex and toxic communication. Attorneys also learned to establish effective communication with procedural opponents, the skills of effective litigation and negotiation within the Harvard model. Participants also discussed the issue of corruption and conflict of interests and sought ways to counteract it.
The module was opened by the Director of the Tomorrow’s Lawyer Program Andriy Vyshnevskyy and Denis Bugay, the ex-President of the Ukrainian Bar Association. Also the module was visited by the Chairman of the Bar Association of Legal Aid Providers Viktoria Mitko, program manager and legal adviser to the US Embassy in Ukraine Olena Kustova, as well as the Component Team Leader of the “Quality and Accessible Legal Aid in Ukraine Project” Ivanna Ibragimova.
In addition, a judge of the Supreme Court, Oleksandra Yanovska, held a separate training session on the topic of an effective litigation.
During the module the participants worked with coaches Iryna Gluschenkova and Vitali Kasko. They were accompanied by the experts of the Program Yulia Lisova, Olga Zhukovska and Volodymyr Sushchenko.
It was extremely pleasant to hear responses to the results of the second module from the fifth group of the second hundred:
“The practical task for working out skills of court speech was extremely useful. Organizers not only structured the knowledge, but also gave the opportunity to use it on practice, and also look at ourselves. In the Program, we are transforming not only as lawyers but also as individuals,” — participant of the fifth group shared his impressions.
“The legal environment is often very toxic in communications. It’s great that the training gave me the understanding of this and the tools for establishing effective bilateral communication in any environment, ” — said the lawyer participating in the Program.
