Tomorrow’s Lawyer Continue Legal Awareness Campaign
On June 8, 2019, Tomorrow’s Lawyer graduate, Olena Voloshyna gave a lecture to the elderly people – members of the Life Lovers Charitable Foundation.
The lawyer advised grandparents on how not to get into the hands of scammers and what popular fraudulent schemes use abusers to earn the trust of the elderly.
“The topic of ‘fraud’ was chosen on purpose. Although I am a lawyer with 12 years of experience, I have repeatedly fallen into the paws of fraudsters”, – she said.
At the meeting, the lecturer together with the participants elaborated the most common types of deception:
- Scams in online stores
- Flats/Realtors rental scams
- Real estate scams
- Bank card scams
- Scams with online services
- Scams with charities
- Car scams
Such lectures “create opportunities for the elderly not to be afraid of the flow of time and to be a part of the modern world”, – Olena Voloshyna quoted as saying.
The cooperation with Charitable Foundation Life Lovers (“Zhyttyelyub”) began about a year ago. Graduates of the Program have already delivered more than ten lectures on issues that are of highest importance to the elderly people.
