Criminal And Administrative Responsibility: Discussion With G3

A G3 group of “Tomorrow’s Lawyer” graduates together with the UBA Branch in Rivne Region and the Rivne Bar Council held a meeting to discuss some aspects of criminal and administrative prosecution, as well as to review and analyse the practice of the European Court of Human Rights.

Alla Filatova, Head of the UBA Branch in Rivne Oblast, moderated the discussion.

During the event, Artem Donets shared his experience in defending clients in cases under Article 130 of the Code of Administrative Procedure and described the peculiarities of legal regulation of this sphere and court practice in these proceedings. The lawyer reviewed the practical cases and examples of the defender’s performance, sharing recommendations on the construction of protection in such cases.

Alla Shyrant devoted her speech to the peculiarities of the preparation of procedural documents in the course of defence activities under Article 130 of the Code of Administrative Procedure in national courts for further appeal to the European Court of Human Rights.

A separate session was devoted to the discussion of actions, tactics and strategy of the defender in the detention of a person on suspicion of committing a criminal offense. Mykhailo Reisin shared his practice and experience in this field.

Also, Yevgeniy Grishin, a trainer within the System of Free Legal Aid Provision, told participants about the actions of the defender in deciding whether to select, prolong, cancel or change a preventive measure, and provided useful advice, analysing his own experience.

During the discussion, Edgar Simonyan touched upon the issue of systematization of the legal profession.

Graduates from the G3 group, Alina Syora, Ruslana Kravchyshyn, and Kateryna Kovalevska, asked interesting questions and shared their comments on the topic of the meeting.
