Peer-to-Peer. Taxation of Legal Practice

On July 23, 2020, the third training for tomorrow’s lawyers was held in a webinar format within the framework of the Peer-to-Peer project. Vitaliy Nakonechny, a graduate of Season I of the “Tomorrow’s Lawyer” program together with the graduate of Season III Olena Hrytsayenko held a Peer-to-Peer event on the topic of Taxation of Legal Practice.

Olena and Vitaliy shared their experience in organizing legal practice taxation scheme. They covered the following issues:

  • Taxation and SSC for individual legal practice;
  • Advantages and disadvantages of a “self-employed person” status;
  • General system of taxation of Attorney’s Bureau and Attorneys-at-law office;
  • Simplified taxation system of Attorney’s Bureau and Attorneys-at-law office;
  • Direct management of the activities of the founding lawyers VS employment contract;
  • Dividends and wages.

The “Tomorrow’s Lawyer” Program was launched in 2016 and first implemented within the “Quality and Accessible Legal Aid” Project, carried out by the Canadian Bureau for International Education with the support of the Government of Canada in cooperation with the Legal Aid Coordination Centre. It is currently being implemented and developed with the support of the US Embassy’s Law Enforcement Section in Ukraine, the “Tomorrow’s Lawyer” NGO, in partnership with the Ukrainian Bar Association and the Bar Association of Legal Aid Providers.
