Graduate of the “Tomorrow’s Lawyer” Program on combating domestic violence

On August 1, 2018, in Kharkiv, the graduate of the “Tomorrow’s Lawyer” Program, Maksym Bratovchenko, spoke at the event dedicated to new approaches to combating domestic violence.

The event was organized by the Ukrainian Bar Association Branch in Kharkiv region, together with the Department of Health of the Kharkiv City Council, the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Kharkiv Region and the Kharkiv Regional Court of Appeal.

In his report, Maksym Bratovchenko noted the controversial attitude of the society to the problem of domestic violence. He cited the statistics, under which the economy of Ukraine suffers heavy losses. Namely, in 2016-2017 the losses amounted to $ 208 million a year due to the existence of this phenomenon.

The lawyer invited the participants of the round table to focus on the practical side of the issue of counteracting domestic violence and provided practical tools for counteracting this phenomenon.
