Participants of the “Tomorrow’s Lawyer” Program to Implement Innovative Projects in the Field of Justice
In June-July 2018, the expert of the “Tomorrow’s Lawyer” Program Andriy Kostin, as well as the participants of the Program Luiza Romanadze and Oleksandr Kozlov took part in the coordination meetings of the partners in order to implement the online dispute settlement procedure.
The meeting participants discussed a pilot dispute resolution project online, best practices and potential barriers, taking into account relevant experiences from Canada, the United States and Europe.
USAID New Justice Program experts presented the results of evaluating potential online disputes initiatives. After discussing the results presented, the participants agreed on a plan for further action to ensure the implementation of the project.
In May-July 2018, the expert of the “Tomorrow’s Lawyer” Program Andriy Kostin, as well as the participants of the Program, Luiza Romanadze and Irina Sukichilova participated in the events aimed at creating public centres for the promotion of access to justice in Ukraine.
These events featured the experience of creating and developing community centres of justice in the United States, Singapore and Latin America. In addition, the participants had the opportunity to get acquainted with the successful experience of such centres in promoting access to justice and increasing citizens’ confidence in the judiciary and state institutions of the justice sector.
At the July event, Tomorrow’s Lawyers discussed the concept of establishing the first public center for facilitating access to justice in Ukraine based on the Kyiv district court.
