Tomorrow’s Lawyer Graduate Shortlisted for the ABA 2019 International Human Rights Award

A graduate of the first season of the “Tomorrow’s Lawyer” Program, Oleksandr Kadiyevsky (G2), was shortlisted for the American Bar Association 2019 International Human Rights Award.

For several years, Oleksandr, together with his colleagues, has been providing legal assistance to residents of the front-line area in cooperation with the UHHRU Public Reception Center in Kramatorsk (Ukrainian Helsinki Human Rights Union – UHHRU).

We wish to extend our congratulations to Oleksandr and thank for his contribution to the protection of human rights and strengthening the rule of law. This is especially valuable near the front line. We hope that the knowledge and skills obtained during the Program was of use in the course of his activities.

“Tomorrow’s Lawyer” is a powerful network of lawyers uniting opinion leaders in the legal profession, who provide legal assistance in accordance with the highest ethical standards, act as agents of change in society and leaders in the professional community.

The “Tomorrow’s Lawyer” Program was launched in 2016 and first implemented within the “Quality and Accessible Legal Aid” Project, carried out by the Canadian Bureau for International Education with the support of the Government of Canada in cooperation with the Legal Aid Coordination Centre. It is currently being implemented and developed with the support of the US Embassy’s Law Enforcement Section in Ukraine, the “Tomorrow’s Lawyer” NGO, in partnership with the Ukrainian Bar Association and the Bar Association of Legal Aid Providers.
