Tomorrow’s Lawyers Share Lessons Learned

The Regional Center for  Secondary Legal Aid Provision in Sumy region arranged a meeting of lawyers to improve their professional skills. Participants of the “Tomorrow’s Lawyer” Program from Sumy region Oleksiy Nazarenko, Olga Sinko and Olena Somok acted as speakers of the event and presented the history of the Program, its organizers and the main mission.

By joining efforts, lawyers shared their knowledge and materials with 20 colleagues who wanted to improve their professional skills.

Present at the training actively discussed the need for lawyers to receive not only basic knowledge, but also flexible skills, in particular, in working with clients. Among other issues, the issues of negotiations and toxic communications and the ways of their solution, worked out earlier in the framework of the Program, were acute.

The “Tomorrow’s Lawyer” Program is an efficient network of lawyers, uniting leaders of the legal profession, who provide legal assistance in accordance with the highest ethical standards, are agents of change in society and leaders in the professional community.

The “Tomorrow’s Lawyer” Program was developed during 2016-2017 with the support of the project “Quality and Accessible Legal Aid in Ukraine” with an expert contribution from the Canadian Bar Association. The “Tomorrow’s Lawyer” Program is being implemented by the Ukrainian Bar Association and the Bar Association of Legal Aid Providers, with the support of the United States Embassy and The Quality and Accessible Legal Aid in Ukraine (QALA) Project funded by the Government of Canada and implemented by the Canadian Bureau for International Education (CBIE).
