Vadym Semenov and Mykola Stoyanov Appeal against the Order for the Professional Development of Lawyers
The Kyiv District Administrative Court opened proceedings on the lawsuit filed by lawyers Vadym Semenov and Mykola Stoyanov against the Bar Council of Ukraine to challenge the Order for the professional development of lawyers. Mykola Stoyanov and Vadym Semenov are graduates and participants of the “Tomorrow’s Lawyer” Program.
The appellants believe that, by approving the Order of Professional Development of Lawyers in the current version as of February 14, 2019, the Bar Council of Ukraine exceeded its authority.
“Neither the Law of Ukraine “On the Bar and Practice of Law” nor the Regulation on the Bar Council of Ukraine provides for the powers of the Bar Council of Ukraine to delegate power or administrative functions to third parties outside the legal system”, – stated in the lawsuit.
The full text of the release and the details of the lawsuit are available on the Ukrainian web-page.
